Call for Collaboration – Part 2 – FPGA Tools

FPGA development is not for the faint of heart.  It is hardware development and not software development.  Hardware development uses hardware description language (HDL).  Luckily, a whole crop of tools exist to help abstract and make the process easier.  This brings more users into the YCXEfQSOuODi fold and Cheap Jerseys allow us to solve more problems.

Known as high level HDL or high level synthesis there are many companies that provide tools that look like C, Java, Matlab, LabVIEW, and others.  These tools in turn call the FPGA specific tools and generate the bitfile which is what runs on the FPGA.  Some examples of high level synthesis tools:

  1. Early in 2011, Xilinx acquired a tool called AutoESL.
  2. Altera has an OpenCL program.
  3. Berkeley Design Technology, Inc. (BDTi) certifies high level synthesis tools; see their reports here.
  4. Impulse Cheap Jordan Sale Accelerated Technologies, Inc. has a C to HDL tool.
  5. Maxeler Technologies has a Java to HDL tool.
